Arthian Ltd

June 2025

Please name the main purpose of your business.
Arthian is a trusted partner, working collaboratively to deliver client-focused solutions. Our multidisciplinary team works across the UK and internationally, providing expertise to help clients de-risk projects, achieve compliance, and drive sustainable growth.

We combine technical excellence, innovation, and industry experience to deliver the full lifecycle of a project. From feasibility and planning through to design and construction, we provide insights to allow our clients to make informed and strategic decisions for long-term success.

Our planning, environmental, sustainability, engineering and safety consultants work across sectors including energy, industry, infrastructure and the built environment, providing innovative, sustainable solutions for people and the planet.

What are the benefits to operating in Moray?
Arthian operates a busy and growing office in the Horizon Scotland Business and Innovation Centre, located in Forres. This vibrant hub offers an ideal base for collaboration, innovation, and growth of our client’s projects.

Our presence here allows us to be closer to many of our existing clients particularly in the distilling, manufacturing, construction and engineering sectors, ensuring responsive, on-the-ground support when it's needed most. Strategically positioned, the office also enables our continued geographic expansion into Moray and the surrounding areas.

By being embedded in a thriving business and innovation community, we’re well placed to foster new partnerships, support local economic development, and deliver tailored, high-quality consultancy services that reflect the specific needs and opportunities of the region.

How do you connect to your local customers?
At Arthian, we pride ourselves on building strong, lasting relationships through a proactive and personal approach to client engagement. We understand the value of face-to-face interactions and take every opportunity to connect directly with both existing and prospective clients. Whether through scheduled meetings, local networking events, exhibitions, or industry conferences, our team is committed to being visible, approachable, and responsive.

Our office in the Horizon Scotland Business and Innovation Centre in Forres reinforces our commitment to supporting the local economy and being readily available to clients across Moray and beyond. This strategic location allows us to be at the heart of the communities we serve, providing timely, hands-on support and fostering collaboration within key sectors such as construction and the areas wealth of manufacturing businesses.

We also believe in giving back to the communities in which we live and work. Through our ‘See a Difference, Make a Difference’ pledge, every Arthian employee is given a paid day of volunteering leave each year to contribute to causes close to their hearts. This commitment to community engagement not only supports local initiatives but reflects the values we bring to every client relationship — integrity, responsibility, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact.

Why are you part of Moray Chamber of Commerce?
Arthian Ltd was established following the merger of Mabbett & Associates Ltd and IKM Consulting Ltd in late 2024. This strategic merger brought together two highly respected consultancies to form one of Scotland’s largest multi-disciplinary firms, with a strong focus on sustainability, engineering, and development consultancy. Now with over 200 employees and 19 offices across the UK, Arthian is well-positioned to provide integrated, client-focused services at both a national and local level.

As part of our growth strategy and ongoing rebranding efforts over the past 12 months, we are committed to enhancing our presence in Moray and strengthening our visibility in the region. Central to this is our aim to develop and maintain close working relationships with local stakeholders, including the Moray Chamber of Commerce and other business and community organisations.

We recognise the importance of being an active member of the local business community — not only to showcase the range of services we offer, but to better understand and respond to the unique needs of the region.

Through our growing team in Forres and our strong commitment to community engagement, Arthian is focused on building meaningful partnerships, supporting local economic growth, and delivering value to businesses and organisations across Moray.

What are you most proud of?
We are incredibly proud of our team – our greatest asset and the foundation of everything we do. Arthian is home to a diverse, multi-disciplinary group technical professionals, including planners, consultants, engineers, and scientists. Together, they bring a wealth of experience, sector-specific knowledge, and innovative thinking to every project.

Our team works across departments to deliver tailored services, expert training, and practical solutions that help our clients see a difference – whether that’s through improved compliance, reduced costs, enhanced sustainability, or optimised performance. We take the time to understand each client’s unique needs and objectives, ensuring our approach is always personalised, effective, and results driven.

This commitment to excellence is reflected in the strength of our client relationships. We’re proud to have built a loyal and growing client base across the UK and beyond, driven by repeat business, referrals, and opportunities to cross-sell services that provide real added value.

Finally, name one misconception that people have about your business.
We might say we don’t know Moray – but in fact, we do. With local teams based in both Forres and Inverness, we bring extensive knowledge, experience, and a clear understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that working in Moray presents across a wide range of business sectors.

While we may be known for one particular area, our expertise spans ten specialist groups, covering ecology and biodiversity, planning, health & safety, noise, flood risk, contaminated land, and more. It’s worth highlighting these additional services – especially those of particular relevance to the region, such as support for the farming, land management, and marine sectors.
