Baxters of Scotland

March 2023

Please name the main purpose of your business.
Our business provides beautifully hand curated luxury hampers and gift boxes to the consumer and corporate market. Each hamper is picked by hand at our Highland Village team in Fochabers, Speyside and delivered to the door of recipients. We can also bespoke the offering for corporate orders which our Speyside based customer service team can help create. We chose not to ‘white label’ our products, instead opting for a business model of collaboration and showcasing our fellow Scottish businesses alongside our own Baxters products to create a true feeling of partnership. Every detail of the curation has been thought of from bringing ‘the coorie’ with cashmere to the warmth of our limited editions soups to fine food items and crafts. What are the benefits to operating in Moray?
Not only does the area offer a wonderful healthy lifestyle and have so many places of scenic beauty but it also provides us with inspiration for our products, take for example our Spey collection Hamper or the seasonal fruit that we can find locally which we use in our exclusive conserves. Sustaining the economy in the highlands is a pillar to our business.

How do you connect to your local customers?
We value our local customers very much and have businesses locally who repeat purchase our hampers every year for both staff and supplier gifts. This is a nice way to ‘buy and support local’ as well as gifting something thoughtful and created here by our team in Fochabers. We will be exhibiting at the Moray Chamber of Commerce Business showcase in June and you will also find us supporting the LochNess Marathon and Festival of running later on in the year.

Why are you part of Moray Chamber of Commerce?
I think the networking opportunities, the ability to talk to fellow businesspeople and gauge the business community ‘temperature’. Sharing challenges is also a key indicator of what we are doing right (and not doing right!). I also appreciate the opportunity to get involved with events and speak to fellow professionals.

What are you most proud of?
Our team of people. Baxters of Scotland Luxury Hampers and Gift Boxes are very much a branch of the Baxters Food Group Tree. Our goal is to compliment and shine alongside the Baxters brand by showcasing our own provenance and heritage portfolio whilst supporting and collaborating with other independently owned Scottish businesses. We searched the length and breadth of Scotland for unique and interesting products to include in our hampers and gift boxes. The impact we have is key to our success, particularly around the environment and ensuring sustainability within our supply chain. We have used packaging sourced from Europe that comes from recyclable materials and we look to minimise waste and encourage repurposing, particularly for the hamper boxes – we have had puppy beds and blanket boxes all using our lovely red trunk style boxes!

Finally, name one misconception that people have about your business.
That we only do soup! We do that exceptionally well but we also do conserves, chutneys, pickles and of course luxury hampers which support other independent businesses.
