What's been happening at Elgin Sports Community Trust?

Elgin Sports Community Trust (ESCT) has enjoyed a busy and successful month, with fantastic achievements both on and off the pitch.

The ESCT mountain bike race team claimed both the category win and overall team victory at the 10 Under the Ben event at Nevis Range. Jonathan, Nicky and Robbie completed an incredible 126km across nine laps in 10 hours, with all three riders delivering exceptionally fast lap times.

ESCT also welcomed 25 young people aged 12–16 to The Gleaner Arena for another successful CAPs Youth Engagement football session, delivered in partnership with Moray Community Alcohol Partnerships and local partner organisations. The programme continues to provide positive opportunities that support youth wellbeing and community development, with the next session taking place on 29 May.

In addition, ESCT delivered another successful in-service day football clinic at The Gleaner Arena for children aged 4-12. Participants had great fun and demonstrated excellent enthusiasm, teamwork and commitment throughout the day.

ESCT is proud to recognise Cameron Leil for reaching the outstanding milestone of 500 football coaching sessions. Since joining ESCT in 2022, Cameron has demonstrated exceptional commitment and enthusiasm for coaching. He has progressed from a volunteering role into a full-time coaching position within the Trust, where he now delivers sessions daily across a variety of programmes and age groups. This milestone represents a fantastic achievement and reflects Cameron’s hard work, passion and ongoing contribution to football development at ESCT.

Looking ahead, registrations are now open for ESCT’s 10th season of the Monday night 5-a-side league, which begins on 8 June. Sign-ups are also open for the summer holiday football camps, Kickstart Football for children aged 2-5 years old, and the 5-a-side Football Tournament on 15 August, which forms part of ESCT’s fifth anniversary celebrations.
