30 YEARS OF ILM HIGHLAND

19 April 2024 • Sarah Medcraf

We are excited to announce our upcoming 30th anniversary celebrations.

Since being founded in 1994, we’ve been committed to improving the lives of vulnerable individuals across Ross-shire, Wester Ross, and Sutherland. Our mission includes providing electrical recycling and refurbishment, free home improvements and crucial support services to those in need throughout the region.

At ILM Highland, we’re proud to have made a positive impact on over 110,000 vulnerable individuals’ lives over the past three decades. Every penny of profit is reinvested into our mission, supporting independent living for those in need. Our commitment to sustainability is evident through our extensive electrical recycling and refurbishment services, which help reduce CO2 emissions and prevent electronic waste from ending up in landfills. In addition to our reuse of large domestic appliances, we also refurbish a range of small electrical items, including tech such as refurbished Chromebooks, ensuring that old laptops find new life instead of contributing to environmental harm.

Speaking about reaching the 30-year milestone, our CEO, Martin Macleod, commented:

“We are thrilled to be celebrating 30 years in business and are looking forward to marking the occasion at our public Family Fun Day on April 27th. To see how the organisation has grown from day one to where we are today – having provided the support that has made a real difference to the lives of over 110,000 vulnerable people across the Highlands – is something everyone associated with ILM Highland should be extremely proud of.”

To celebrate this milestone, we have several events planned. On April 27th, we’ll be hosting a Public Family Open Day at our headquarters in Alness from 11am to 3pm. The day will be filled with entertainment, including trapeze performances and Fox & Friends entertainment, along with activities like face painting, candy floss, games, and refreshments.

Additionally, from April 22nd to 27th, we’ll be offering a 10% discount on all electrical goods in our Alness shop and online. This discount applies to all electrical goods, both new and refurbished items, allowing our community to access quality appliances at affordable prices.

As we reflect on our journey, we are filled with gratitude for our organisation’s growth and impact. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with our community and continuing our mission of supporting vulnerable individuals to live independently at home.
