A paws for coffee: Barklands Cafe coming to Aberlour
Speyside Care Home in Aberlour is launching a new weekly cafe bringing together residents, local dog walkers and their canine chums.
The new Barklands Cafe will welcome visitors and their dogs for a cuppa and a chat with residents and staff.
It will launch on Tuesday 6 October and run every Tuesday from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.
Speyside Care Home manager Louise Gillies said: “Our residents love it when dogs come to visit, so we’re really looking forward to launching Barklands Café.
“It’s also a lovely opportunity for us to be part of our local community. We hope people will pop in with their dogs, enjoy a cuppa and get to know our residents, staff and other dog walkers.”
The cafe is free, although a small donation to the residents’ comfort fund would be appreciated.
Friendly dogs and therapets are welcome, with a few simple guidelines in place to ensure everyone’s safety. Dogs must be kept on a leash and accompanied by a responsible adult and should be comfortable around people and other dogs.
Care provider Parklands Care Homes plans to introduce the Barklands Cafe at other homes across the group.
