Applications Now Open for Moray Chamber of Commerce's Chosen Charity
8 May 2025 • Sarah Medcraf
Moray Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the exciting opportunity to be the supported charity at Moray's premier black-tie event. The Business Dinner, now in its 20th year, will take place on Friday 26th September. The evening will gather 400 distinguished local business representatives at the impressive Gordon Castle in Fochabers.
The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Moray Chamber Business Award, honouring the company that has made a significant contribution to the local economy over the past year. The award, sponsored The Family of Sir Jim Walker, is an iconic copper pagoda carefully crafted by Forsyth’s and is beacon of local commitment. This year marks the sixth consecutive year that the event will be hosted at Gordon Castle, following the resounding success of the 2024 Dinner.

As has been in the case in previous years, Moray Chamber of Commerce will use the occasion to raise funds for a worthy local cause. Last year, the selected charity, Erskine Veterans Charity received a generous donation of £8800 from the auction proceeds. The support from local businesses in donating prizes for the auction has always been commendable, and an array of excellent items is anticipated for 2025.

Charities interested in being considered must operate within Moray and demonstrate how their work positively impacts the local community. The application process provides charities with the opportunity to outline both their current initiatives and their proposed utilisation of the funds. All charities operating in Moray are invited to apply, regardless of whether or not they are currently a member of Moray Chamber of Commerce.
Sarah Medcraf, Chief Executive Officer at Moray Chamber of Commerce, expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating, "Moray is a community focussed region. There are so many worthy organisations, and I wish we could support them all. But we’re proud to do our bit and help facilitate such meaningful work, and we encourage charities to apply for the chance to be this year's beneficiary."
Moray Chamber of Commerce extends its gratitude to its sponsors, The Family of Sir Jim Walker, Good Highland Food, Johnston Carmichael Chartered Accountants, MJD Systems, Balfour Beatty, Glasgow School of Art, SSEN Transmission, Brodie Countryfare, Forsyths, Diageo, Gordon Castle & Northport.
Application forms are available on the Moray Chamber of Commerce website or by emailing info@moraychamber.co.uk. The deadline for applications is 5:00 PM on Friday 27th June 2025.
