Bike Fest returns for 2025
14 May 2025 • Sarah Medcraf
A popular cycling event, aimed at encouraging people to take to their bikes more frequently, is to return for 2025.
A series of Bike Fest events will be taking place throughout Moray; with a range of activities on offer for all ages, including an obstacle course, led rides, BMX sessions, bike maintenance checks and a ‘smoothie bike’ – which lets people use pedal power to operate a blender. Bikes will be provided for some activities, and there will also be the opportunity to try out adapted bikes, such as tandems and cargo bikes.

Bike Fest will run on Sundays throughout the summer from 12pm-3pm, starting in Cullen on 25 May:
- 25 May – Cullen, at the Viaduct
- 15 June Fochabers, Burnside Field and football pitch
- 31 August – Aberlour, Alice Littler Park
- 7 September – Rothes, McKessack Park
No registration is needed, and all events are free of charge.
Chair of Moray Council's Education, Communities and Leisure Services Committee, Cllr Kathleen Robertson, said: “Bike Fest is a brilliant opportunity for families and individuals to get outside, have fun and build confidence on their bikes.
“We’re very fortunate in Moray to offer many scenic locations and a growing network of safe and accessible paths for walking and cycling. Bike Fest will help people discover some of them, in a relaxed, supportive environment – all while promoting the benefits of cycling as a healthy and sustainable mode travel.”
Bike Fest is organised by Moray Council’s Active Travel team, in partnership with Cycling UK, Cooper Park Active Travel Hub, Outfit Moray, TyredNCrankey, TSI Moray, UHI Active Campus, Theraplay, and Scottish BMX School led by Reece Thomson.
