BUSINESS DINNER TO SUPPORT VULNERABLE ADULTS

5 July 2022 • Sarah Medcraf

Moray Reach Out has been named as the beneficiary of this years Annual Business Dinner hosted by Moray Chamber of Commerce. The event, which attracts 400 business guests to Gordon Castle in Fochabers, launched their application process in May. Sarah Medcraf, CE of Moray Chamber of Commerce said: ‘It is always difficult choosing between such worthy beneficiaries. Third sector organisations have struggled like many over the last couple of years, so it is great for us to give back.”

‘We’re delighted to be supporting Moray Reach Out. Shona and the team work incredibly hard to ensure that there is a variety of opportunities available for vulnerable adults within our community.”

The social enterprise, which has sites in Elgin and Buckie but supports people from all across Moray, empowers lives and promotes good mental wellbeing. Moray Reach Out will use the funds raised to support educational and developmental outings for adults with learning disabilities and fund placements promoting mental wellbeing for those recovering from periods of poor mental health who do not have Self-Directed Support.

Shona Radojkovic, General & Business Development Manager said: “Everyone at Moray Reach Out is absolutely delighted to have been chosen as this year’s charity for Moray Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Dinner. The monies received from the auction will be used towards educational and developmental outings for adults with learning disabilities and for mental wellbeing placements in our MRO Art Yarn projects.”

In 2019, Moray Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Business Dinner raised £7000 for Keiran’s Legacy from the night’s auction. The generosity of both the lot donators and bidding guests makes this possible with the hope of excellent auction prizes this year including a top prize from The Macallan.

The dinner takes place on Friday 30th September at Gordon Castle, Fochabers.
