Businesses Encouraged to Embrace Grant Park 100

1 April 2024 • Sarah Medcraf

Businesses are being encouraged to get involved in an event that is being held to celebrate Grant Park in Forres being gifted to the town 100 years ago.

Grant Park 100 will be held on August 24 and the organisers, Forres Events Limited (FEL), are looking for stallholders and have created a number of sponsorship opportunities.

The event will offer have-a-go activities, games, music, crafts, demonstrations, talks, performances, food and drink, funfair rides, beer tent, and competitions, including one featuring the beloved digestive biscuit, which Sir Alexander Grant invented.

Forres Events Limited is the company that successfully staged Piping At Forres, the European Pipe Band Championships in Forres for six years from 2013.

Joanna Taylor, a director with FEL, said: “The planning for this event is well under way and we have already had people getting in touch asking to take a stall. There have been positive sponsorship enquiries too.

“This is a one day, one-off event and it is unique in that it has never been done before, so we are expecting that it will be popular, so it’s a great opportunity for businesses to get involved.”

Grant Park 100 will be set in the heart of the park and will boast two marquees and a display arena and will feature activities such as a gun-dog display, vehicle parade, fancy dress gathering, live music, talks, demos, and a mini Highland games with a twist all planned. It will also include a Science tent, something that was very popular at Piping At Forres.

There are places for both indoor and outside stalls at the event as Joanna explained: “We are looking to attract stallholders who fit with the ethos of the event as a fun and entertaining day out. When organising Piping At Forres, FEL built up a reputation amongst the traders for its organisation as well as providing them with a great venue, Grant Park 100 is no different.”

The sponsorship opportunities are also vast with four different packages starting from £250.

“Sponsorship is a great way to promote your businesses,” said Joanna, “and show your support for the community. Grant Park 100 is very much a celebration of our community and heritage and this community-led event, will attract residents and visitors alike. Different grades of sponsorship have been made available to suit different budgets, business interests and promotional ambitions.”
