Clan’s Cavalcade 2026 to Celebrate Textile Heritage Across the North-East

16 June 2026 • Sarah Medcraf

Classic cars and motorcycles will take centre stage once again as Clan Cancer Support’s much-loved Cavalcade returns for 2026 with a brand-new theme celebrating the region’s rich textile heritage.

The Textile Tour will take place on Friday, August 28, 2026, offering drivers the opportunity to visit a range of local businesses and venues connected to the textile industry.

Drivers will set off from Johnstons of Elgin after breakfast, with the starting point also recognising the company’s support for Clan as its chosen charity partner. The renowned Scottish manufacturer, known for more than 225 years of craftsmanship in cashmere and fine woollens, is already supporting Clan through its fundraising efforts.

From there, participants will travel through Moray and Aberdeenshire, visiting a range of textile-focused businesses. Stops along the route include Flock & Saunter in Aberlour, before continuing to Corgarff, where there will be an optional lunch stop hosted by Goodbrand & Ross. The tour then heads into Strathdon to visit both Bill Barclay Kiltmaker and Mahri Prince Textile Art, before finishing at the Cabrach Tapestry. The day will conclude with an optional evening meal at the Aberlour Hotel.

The tour will showcase the diverse range of skills, craftsmanship and innovation within the textile sector, offering participants insight into both traditional techniques and modern practices.

The event will include opportunities to meet experts within the textile sector, learn about traditional and modern processes, and explore how these businesses continue to thrive within the local economy.

Clan is keen to hear from owners of classic cars and motorcycles who would like to join the tour, helping to raise awareness and vital funds for the cancer support charity.

Julie Ferguson, Clan’s Moray area services co-ordinator, said: “Our Cavalcade is one of our fundraising highlights in Moray. It brings people together from all over and there’s such a great sense of community around it. Participants and locals gather every year to see the amazing range of vintage and classic cars on display.

“This year’s textile theme offers a fantastic opportunity to showcase the skill, heritage and innovation within our local businesses, and we’re especially pleased to be working with Johnstons of Elgin as one of our valued supporters.

“Demand is already high for this year’s event, but we still have spaces available for those looking to take part and help raise much needed funds for those impacted by cancer in the local community, ensuring Clan can continue to provide its vital support services.”

Clan’s Elgin centre is open 10am – 4pm Monday to Thursday, offering support, information, and a range of complementary therapies, and is situated centrally on Elgin High Street.

A minimum of £50 donation is required from each vehicle owner to enter the Clan Cavalcade, with additional costs for optional lunch and dinner. Drivers and navigators wishing to take part can register online via Clan Cancer Support’s website, where they will be directed to a QR code to complete their entry and select any optional extras. Alternatively, paper entry forms, which also include the lunch and dinner options, are available on request by emailing Clan’s Moray team on moray@clancancersupport.org
