AES SOLAR: POWERING MORAY’S FUTURE WITH PURPOSE
As the UK’s longest-established solar installation company, AES Solar has been a proud part of the Moray community for nearly 50 years - and their commitment to people, planet, and purpose has earned them a place as a finalist in this year’s Moray Chamber of Commerce Annual Business Awards for Corporate Social Responsibility.
Founded in Forres in 1979, AES Solar leads by example in sustainable business - designing, manufacturing, and installing high-quality solar PV and thermal systems across Scotland. Combining cutting-edge renewable technology with deep-rooted community values, the company demonstrates how clean energy innovation and local impact can go hand in hand.

More than 20% of AES Solar’s team are current or former apprentices, and staff benefit from individual training budgets, flexible working, and strong wellbeing support. The firm’s offices in Forres and Dingwall are powered by their own solar systems, while their locally made products are designed for longevity and recyclability.
AES Solar’s community work is equally impressive, from planting 540 native trees with the Woodland Trust to providing free solar systems for charities like The Oxygen Works in Inverness. Their employee-led CSR programme ensures that every initiative, from STEM education to mental health support, is driven by the team itself.
As AES Solar celebrates its fifth decade, its mission remains clear: to create lasting, positive change for people and the planet - proving that sustainable business can truly power community success.
