International Women's Day 2018

7 March 2018 • Sarah Medcraf

#firstmentor Campaign

Today, on International Women’s Day 2018 (8th March) Moray Chamber of Commerce’s CEO, Sarah Medcraf, is pledging 7 days of her time to mentor a young woman to help her fulfil her potential. As part of the #firstmentor campaign last year, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon started mentoring a young woman and together, they have achieved a great deal. Sturgeon is asking that other women in power join her in pledging their time. She said “…it is not just enough to be a woman in leadership. You have to use your position to help those women who come after you so that it is that bit easier for them to achieve their goals. Mentoring is one way that we can all help a new generation of women leaders, by sharing our own stories and experiences and helping them to focus on achieving their ambitions.” Sarah, is a young woman herself being under 30 but has bags of leadership experience, contacts and ideas. Sarah has been the CEO of Moray Chamber for over two years now and is eager to share her experience as part of the #firstmentor campaign. She has the chance to encourage another young woman to fulfil her potential and be inspired by what life has to offer. If you would like to assist Sarah in pledging her time by becoming her mentee, then please get in contact. All you need is to be a female under the age of 24. Let us know you would like to achieve and how she could help you. Contact Sarah on smedcraf@moraychamber.co.uk or call the office on 01343 543344
