Law Firm Expands with Elgin Office Move

30 September 2025 • Sarah Medcraf

HARPER MACLEOD IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE OPENING OF ITS NEW ELGIN OFFICE AT PHOENIX HOUSE ON WARDS ROAD, MARKING A SIGNIFICANT MILESTONE IN THE FIRM’S CONTINUED INVESTMENT FOR CLIENTS IN MORAY.

The move to Phoenix House means the firm’s Elgin team and local clients will benefit from a fully refurbished workspace and meeting facilities designed to support collaboration, growth and client service.

This expansion builds on Harper Macleod’s commitment to Moray, which dates back many years, culminating in the firm opening in Elgin six years ago following its merger with Wink & Mackenzie. Since then, Harper Macleod has deepened its roots and become the largest law firm in the area, having expanded and reshaped the practice beyond private client services to a full service office with 25 colleagues based in Elgin serving Moray clients, and backed up by the breadth and depth of a national law firm.

Harper Macleod’s Elgin-based team boasts the full complement of legal services for businesses & organisations, and individuals & families, including estate agency and conveyancing, commercial property, rural land, corporate, dispute resolution, employment, and advice on wills, trusts and estates. Laura McLean, a partner in the family law team in Elgin, has achieved triple accreditation as a specialist in family law, child law and family mediation.

Chris Kerr, Head of Harper Macleod’s north of Scotland team, said: “We’ve been part of the Moray community for many years. The loyalty and trust of our clients has given us the confidence to continually invest in our people and services so that we can provide the full breadth of legal advice expected of a national law firm with local knowledge.

“This move to Phoenix House reflects our continued belief in the region’s potential. The Old Station has served us well, but our new Elgin office gives us the space and facilities to grow with our clients and to continue delivering the high-quality legal services they expect from Harper Macleod.”

The new location, just a five-minute walk from Elgin train station, offers strong transport links and prominent exterior branding in a busy part of town, further enhancing the firm’s visibility and accessibility.
