Maynes Coaches Celebrates 100,000 Zero Emission Miles as Electric Fleet Expands

5 January 2026 • Sarah Medcraf

MAYNES COACHES IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE A MAJOR ENVIRONMENTAL AND OPERATIONAL MILESTONE, SURPASSING 100,000 MILES OF ZERO EMISSION TRAVEL WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF INTRODUCING ITS ELECTRIC COACH FLEET.

The company achieved this target over three months ahead of schedule, marking a significant step forward in sustainable transport for the North of Scotland.

Launched in late April, Maynes began operating its first four electric coaches—a number that has since grown to six fully electric vehicles as demand and operational success continue to rise.

“Our electric fleet has been warmly welcomed and widely praised by our clients, passengers, and driving team,” said Kevin Mayne, Operations Director. “These vehicles offer a premium, zero emission coach travel experience, and this milestone reflects both the reliability of the technology and our commitment to climate friendly transport.

A Milestone Reached Across All Sectors of Service
In achieving the first 100,000 miles, the electric fleet has supported a diverse range of journeys, including:
•    Daily contract routes transporting thousands of local workers and school pupils
•    Cruise ship excursions and private tours across the North of Scotland
•    Corporate and VIP travel throughout the Speyside region and beyond
•    Private hire movements including pipe band events, sports competitions, and wedding transportation.

Beyond the environmental impact, these journeys have contributed to “millions of memories” for passengers, underscoring the cultural and community role Maynes Coaches plays across Moray and the wider region.

Continuing a 79 Year Legacy of Innovation
As the family run business approaches its 79th year in 2026, this achievement stands as a testament to Maynes’ ongoing commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer service.

“We have been ‘The Name to Trust in Travel since 1947,’ and this milestone carries that legacy forward,” added Mayne.
“We look ahead to the next 100,000 electric miles with excitement, continuing to invest in modern vehicles and technology."
