SUPPORTING WELLBEING IN OUR COMMUNITY: MENTAL HEALTH & FIRST AID TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Anyone can be affected by a mental health condition whether ourselves, a family member, friend or colleague and, just as a medical first aid course prepares you to respond to a medical emergency, a First Aid for Mental Health aid course will help you provide care in a crisis such as anxiety, depression, or suicidal thoughts and I am delighted to let you know that Outfit Moray are now delivering a range of First Aid for Mental Health courses, which can be run at your location.
Taking part in First Aid for Mental Health training equips you with the knowledge and confidence to recognise the early signs of mental health challenges, offer support and guide someone towards the right help. Training also helps reduce the stigma of mental health challenges and encourages open conversations, building safer, more supportive communities in the workplace, youth groups, schools and at home, so please do visit our website for more information, or get in touch for a quote.
Of course, we are also still very busy delivering our busy first aid courses, and I have listed all our upcoming courses for October and November. As always, these courses are held at Moray Sports Centre, Linkwood in Elgin and we have our Emergency First Aid at Work and First Aid at Work courses, (both with the option to add the Forestry element) as well as Outdoor First Aid and Paediatric First Aid courses. Full course information on all our courses can be found on our website.
5-6 Oct: Outdoor First Aid (£145 pp)
7 Oct: Emergency First Aid at Work (from £85 pp)
13-14 Oct: First Aid At Work (from £150 pp)
13 Oct: Emergency First Aid at Work
20 Oct: Emergency First Aid at Work
1-2 Nov: 16hrs Outdoor First Aid
6 Nov: Emergency First Aid at Work
17 Nov: Emergency First Aid at Work
22 Nov: Paediatric First Aid (from £85 pp)
All the above courses can be booked directly via our website but we can also deliver bespoke courses at your location, so please do get in touch for a quote for 8 to 12 people.
Finally, please don’t forget that we reinvest the income from our first aid courses, including First Aid for Mental Health so, because you are using a local charity to meet your training requirements, the money stays right here in Moray and supports local young people and families, which is a big tick for social impact and community wealth building, plus our instructors also have first-hand experience and plenty of anecdotes, which they incorporate in their training, making our courses interesting and dynamic, as well as unique!
