Moray Community invited to the races for Clan Cancer Support
18 August 2026 • Sarah Medcraf
Clan Cancer Support is inviting people from across Moray to enjoy a fun-filled evening of racing, raffles and fundraising at a community Race Night in Elgin this October.
The event, which will take place at the Ex-Serviceman's Club, Elgin, on Friday 9 October, aims to bring local people together while raising vital funds to support those impacted by cancer locally. Doors open at 6pm, with the first race getting underway at 7pm.
Guests can enjoy eight exciting races featuring named horses, with opportunities to buy a horse, place bets and compete for prizes throughout the evening.
Money raised from the event will help Clan continue providing emotional and practical support to people impacted by cancer in communities across the north-east, Moray, Orkney and Shetland.
Julie Ferguson, Clan's Moray Area Services Co-ordinator, said: "You don't need to know anything about horse racing to come along and enjoy our race night. It's all about getting together, having fun and supporting a cause that means a great deal to so many people across our local community.
"Whether you're buying a horse, placing a bet or entering the raffle, there are plenty of ways to get involved. Every contribution will help us continue supporting local people and their loved ones through the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own nibbles and enjoy an evening of fundraising and friendly competition while supporting a local cause.
Admission is free, although tickets are required. Tickets can be collected from the Ex-Serviceman's Club, Clan's Elgin Centre at 227 High Street, or by emailing moray@clancancersupport.org.
