Moray Game Jam 2026 Sponsorship Package
6 October 2025 • Sarah Medcraf
Introduction
Known as “The best game jam in Scotland” Moray Game Jam is now in its 10th year. Hosted at UHI Moray, this 48-hour event connects communities with the gaming industry and attracts participants from across Scotland.
With the goal to create a video or board game, inspired by a surprise theme revealed at the start, Moray Game Jam is a celebration of creativity, innovation, and collaboration. Designed to be fully inclusive, the event welcomes both beginners and seasoned developers, with expert support available throughout. Social sessions offer opportunities to connect, share ideas, and build lasting relationships.
What makes Moray Game Jam special is its Gaming Playground where members of the public get to play test all the games created over the weekend, meet the creators and vote for People’s Choice Awards.
“It’s one of the highlights of our year and we always have a great time. The whole experience of being completely absorbed in creating and making something we’re proud of is the best part.” – Cari Watterton, Moray Game Jam participant

Why Sponsor?
Moray Game Jam brings many benefits to the local areas, business and our young people though:
Educational talks and workshops
Delivered on the second day of the event, our industry led talks and workshops are ideal for anyone working in or wanting to train in the creative, computing and/or gaming industry. The provide a background into many aspects of the industry including programming, art, accessibility, marketing and sales encouraging aspiring or current developers to learn new skills.
Networking
At the heart of Moray Game Jam is the networking opportunities. Across the weekend participants hear from those in the industry have the chance to sharing ideas and best practice and meet like-minded individuals. Throughout the years we have increased the opportunities for networking at the event introducing social sessions including a quiz and gaming sessions last year.
The gaming playground also provides a chance for the participants to engage with the general public and increase their professional communication skills.
“My experience at the Game Jam was very positive. The atmosphere didn’t feel too competitive or stressful for me at all. The judges were really nice towards me and my teammates, and the staff were informative and made sure that all the competitors were comfortable as well as being supportive if we had any questions.” Kirsten Wallach, Moray Game Jam participant
Local skills development
The knowledge and contacts gained through the weekend are related to roles across many sectors within Computing and Creative and Digital design. With the opportunity for students to volunteer during the weekend, and everyone involved having the opportunity to meet industry experts, the weekend increases awareness as to the skills required to progress successfully into related education and/or employment.
Throughout the years Moray Game Jam has also contributed to building the local workforce with participants being offered employment opportunities upon completion of the competition and therefore supporting the retention of young people in the area.
