BRILLIANTLY BRAVE: A MORAY CREATIVE ENTERPRISE TURNING CARDS INTO COMMUNITY IMPACT

Moray-based creative, modern card store Brilliantly Brave, has been announced as a finalist for the Most Promising Enterprise Award at this year’s Moray Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

Brilliantly Brave began with a simple idea: that beautiful design can do genuine good. Founded in January 2024 by Jean Pryde and Stuart Cox, the company creates modern greeting cards with bold colour, honest words, and a clear purpose - every single one helps fund free mental-health training and peer support across Scotland. When someone sends one of their cards, they’re not just sharing a message; they’re helping someone else find theirs.

The impact began immediately, with coaching sessions, menopause groups, LGBTQ+ support and peer-led initiatives all funded within the first month. Rapid industry recognition soon followed: Stars of the Show at Progressive Greetings Live, six nominations at The Henries, and a growing list of awards throughout 2025, including selection as one of the UK’s SmallBiz100 and national honours at the House of Lords and Scottish Parliament.

Growth has continued at pace. Through a partnership with leading licensing agency This is Iris, Brilliantly Brave has secured deals with major UK and global partners, including the world’s largest calendar company.

Despite this national momentum, the business remains proudly rooted in Moray. Every product carries “Designed in Moray,” and collaborations with local partners like Threaplands Garden Centre highlight a shared commitment to community wellbeing. In just 18 months, over 170 people have been trained as Mental Health First Aiders, and hundreds more have taken part in peer groups and awareness programmes.

With sustainable production, strong social impact, and national recognition, Brilliantly Brave is a standout example of an enterprise with both ambition and heart, growing far beyond Moray while ensuring the benefits always return home.
