Based in Elgin, Moray Girls Football Club has become a key part of the local sporting community, offering structured football training and competitive opportunities for girls across Moray and Speyside. The club welcomes players across multiple age groups, providing coaching for those born between 2006 and 2013.
Founded in 2009, Moray Girls FC has grown steadily from its early days to now fielding teams at various youth levels, including under-10s, under-12s, under-14s and under-16s, competing in regional leagues across the north of Scotland.
The club’s core aim is to promote participation in football for girls and women of all abilities, while also supporting the development of coaching and officiating within the local community.
Training sessions are designed to be age-appropriate and inclusive, creating a supportive environment where players can build confidence, improve skills and enjoy being part of a team. The club draws participants from across Moray and neighbouring areas, reflecting its role as a hub for girls’ football in the region.
As the profile of women’s football continues to rise across Scotland and the UK, clubs like Moray Girls FC are playing an increasingly important role at grassroots level—helping to nurture talent, encourage participation and create pathways for young players to progress in the sport.
