Hi folks,

We are running a public First Aid for Mental Health course, on 15th August at Moray Sports Centre in Linkwood, which is available for booking by organisations or members of the public. More information can be found below, as well as a list of our public practical first aid courses at Moray Sports Centre.

Don't forget, we can also deliver bespoke courses at your chosen venue. Simply send me an email with your preferred course and dates, and we'll get you sorted.

Please remember that we reinvest the income from all our first aid courses, including First Aid for Mental Health which means the money stays right here in Moray and supports local young people and families. By using a local charity to meet your first aid training requirements is a big tick for social impact and community wealth building, plus our instructors also have first-hand experience and plenty of anecdotes, which they incorporate in their training, making our courses interesting and dynamic, as well as unique!

First Aid for Mental Health - 15 August

This course has been designed to help employers to provide a positive mental health culture within the workplace and to provide learners with comprehensive knowledge on a range of the most common mental health conditions and the skills to be able to act should a condition be suspected.

Subject to successful assessment, participants will receive a Level 2 Award in First aid for Mental Health which is valid for 3 years, as well as a regulated SCQF 5 qualification.

The course covers a range of topics, including the effects of drugs and alcohol, and provides learners with the skills and knowledge to assist employers in implementing a positive mental health culture to support employees within a workplace.

A range of First Aid for Mental Health related subjects are covered including:

• What is First Aid for Mental Health

• Identifying mental health conditions

• Providing advice and starting a conversation

• Stress

• Mental health conditions

• Drugs and alcohol

• First Aid for Mental Health action plan

• First Aid for Mental Health in the workplace

Our certified Emergency First Aid at Work course will give you all these skills and more, so you will feel equipped to deal with a medical emergency at home, work or in the forest! There's also the option to add a forestry element.

First Aid at Work
Our certified WorkSafe First Aid at Work course meets the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive for first aiders working in medium and high risk environments. There's also the option to add a forestry element.

Our certified Worksafe 16hrs outdoor first aid course covers the essentials required to provide emergency care to a patient where emergency services may be remote or delayed from the incident location. (Certificate lasts 3 years).

Paedriatic First Aid (£95 or £110 per person)

The certified Worksafe Emergency Paediatric First Aid is suitable for anyone working with children, including childminders, child carers, parents, foundation stage staff and play scheme leaders.
