SCOTTISH INSURANCE BROKER STRENGTHENS ITS TEAM
An independent insurance broking and risk management firm has strengthened its Elgin operation with the appointment of well-known local insurance professional Rhona Scott.

Rhona Scott joins Caledonia Dallas in Elgin.
Rhona joins Caledonia Dallas following almost 15 years with the NFU Mutual Elgin Agency, where she held the position of office manager and developed extensive experience across administration, compliance, customer service and operational management.
Her career began with Bank of Scotland in Inverness, where she worked as a mortgage advisor before moving to Lloyds TSB as a financial advisor. She then joined NFU Mutual in 2011, taking on increasing responsibility for the day-to-day management and performance of the Elgin office.
Rhona has experience of training and supporting office staff, maintaining compliance standards and managing customer relationships, as well as overseeing administrative operations, sales targets and strategies.
In her new role with Caledonia Dallas, Rhona will bring her considerable industry knowledge and understanding of the local market to the growing Elgin team. Rhona said: “Over the years I’ve have built up lots of experience and strong relationships in the industry and wider business community.
“I’m delighted to be joining Caledonia Dallas at an exciting time for the business. It has a strong local presence and a clear commitment to providing a personal service to its clients, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the continued growth of the Elgin office and getting to know colleagues and clients.”
The appointment comes as Caledonia Dallas continues to expand its presence across the north of Scotland. The firm has recently appointed account executive, James Dawson, to its commercial team in Inverness.
James brings specialist experience in farm, estate, agricultural vehicle fleet and high-net-worth insurance, alongside a background in the Army and rural land management. He previously served as a director with the Perthshire Agricultural Society before relocating to Inverness-shire.
Paul Chiffers, head of office at Caledonia Dallas in Inverness and Elgin, said: “Rhona’s in depth understanding of customer-service and the insurance sector will be a real asset as we continue to grow our Elgin operation. Alongside James joining our Inverness team, these appointments demonstrate our commitment to investing in experienced people as we expand our presence across the north of Scotland.”
