Shaun Moat Elected Chair of the Armed Forces Covenant Highland Gold Network

Shaun Moat, Managing Director of Donut Pig Digital Marketing, has been elected as Chair of the Armed Forces Covenant Highland Gold Network.

Shaun will hold the role for the next two years, working closely with network members and alongside Highland Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association to continue supporting and strengthening the important work taking place across the Highlands.

The Armed Forces Covenant Highland Gold Network brings together organisations that are committed to supporting the Armed Forces community. The network encourages collaboration, shares best practice and promotes meaningful action for serving personnel, veterans, reservists, cadets and their families.

Speaking about his appointment, Shaun said:

“I’m incredibly proud to take on this role and grateful for the trust and support shown by members of the network. The Armed Forces community is built on collaboration, support and shared commitment, and I’m looking forward to working closely with our members, alongside Highland Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association, over the next two years.”

He added:

“There is already fantastic work taking place across the Highlands, and I’m excited to help build on that momentum. By working together, we can continue to strengthen support, raise awareness and make a positive difference for the Armed Forces community.”

Shaun’s appointment reflects his ongoing commitment to the Armed Forces community and his passion for supporting organisations that champion veterans, reservists, cadets, serving personnel and their families.

Michelle McKearnon, Head of Engagement at Highland Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association, said:

“I am absolutely delighted that Shaun has been elected the next Chair of the Highland Gold Network. He is a staunch supporter of reservists, veterans and the wider Defence family, and will lead the network to further success over the next two years. I am looking forward to continuing to work with him to support the Armed Forces family across Highland and Central Scotland.”

Over the next two years, the network will continue to focus on collaboration, celebrating the work of its members and encouraging further engagement with the Armed Forces Covenant across the Highlands.

Shaun is also encouraging businesses of all sizes to consider signing the Armed Forces Covenant as a way of showing their support for the Armed Forces community.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the nation that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, should be treated fairly and with respect. It encourages organisations, businesses and communities to recognise the contribution of the Armed Forces community and to help ensure they are not disadvantaged because of their service.
