Step By Step in Moray Announced as Supported Beneficiary for Annual Dinner

31 July 2025 • Sarah Medcraf

Moray Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce that Step By Step in Moray has been chosen as the nominated beneficiary for this year's Annual Business Dinner. The Chamber received a large number of applications, and whilst all were very worthy, the decision to support Step By Step in Moray was made after careful consideration. Moray Chamber of Commerce is honoured to have the opportunity to contribute to their invaluable work.

Step by Step in Moray, a local Moray based charity, provides vital support to isolated or vulnerable families with young children. Their work includes offering practical advice, emotional support, and a welcoming space for parents and carers to connect, learn, and grow with their children.

“The support you have given my family the last year has changed our lives. Thank you especially for being my support and lifeline on my darkest days.”

Established in 2008, Step by Step in Moray is a lifeline to expectant parents and parents with children up to the age of 3, particularly those experiencing domestic abuse, poverty, addiction, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and social isolation. Staff and volunteers currently support 160 families, with a further 54 families on the waiting list. They deliver weekly sessions in Elgin, Forres, Lhanbryde and Portessie that promote attachment and help parents develop friendships, confidence and skills which will improve their wellbeing and resilience, enabling them to give their children the best start in life. 250 Moray families are supported annually.

Sarah Medcraf, CE added: "We’re delighted to support Step By Step in Moray as we mark 20 years of our Annual Business Dinner. Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, we’ve received a fantastic selection of auction prizes, and we’re aiming to raise as much as possible to support the incredible work Step By Step in Moray continues to do in our community."
