RETURN TO THE WORKPLACE: BUSINESS AS USUAL?

Ewan Stafford and Marc Penman from Harper Macleod’s Inverness office shall be hosting a seminar on the employment law impacts of COVID 19 as businesses look to deal with the legal aspects of working in a post-COVID 19 world.

They shall look at such issues as:

  • Current rules on workplaces
  • Workplace testing
  • Vaccination status – what can you ask / what can you require?
  • No jab/no job – What rules can an employer put in place?
  • What are the likely patterns in working and their various issues.
    I.e
    back to the office, homeworking and hybrid working.
  • How to deal effectively with a flexible working request

About the Speakers

Ewan Stafford

Ewan Stafford is experienced in advising clients in the public, private and third sector on a wide range of employment-related matters, including matters arising throughout the whole employment relationship, from recruitment through to termination of employment.

Ewan regularly conducts advocacy at Employment Tribunals for both Claimants and Respondents throughout Scotland and has represented clients at Tribunals in Inverness, Aberdeen, Orkney, Glasgow, Dundee, and Edinburgh.

In conjunction with providing advice on day-to-day employment matters, Ewan provides support in relation to the employment law aspects of commercial transactions, advising particularly in relation to TUPE implications. In doing so Ewan has provided advice to employers across a number of sectors but with a focus on healthcare. As a result of this Ewan has developed expertise in dealing with service provision changes, mergers, acquisitions, and disposals.

Marc Penman

Qualifying in April 2021 and sitting within both the Public Sector and Employment departments at Harper Macleod LLP, Marc has considerable experience advising both employee and employer clients on a variety of employment-related matters (including matters such as redundancy, unfair dismissal, employment status, sickness and absence, and settlement agreements). In addition, Marc is experienced in drafting and revising employment-related documentation for clients and their specific needs including contracts of employment, consultancy agreements, relevant HR policies and procedures, and employee handbooks.
