Keith Community Radio welcomes another 2 young budding presenters.
A new music show starts on Keith Community Radio next week.
In To The Oblivion is presented by Elgin sisters Amy and Rachel Johnstone.
They explain;-
“Forget your worries and step In To The Oblivion – as we bring you the best heavy metal and hard rock tracks in our new 4 weekly show, starting Tuesday 6 May at 7pm or catch up the following day at 11am.”
Amy (13) and Rachel (10) are a couple of young rockers – Amy plays guitar and Rachel is a drummer. They were spotted by KCR presenters Allan Riddoch and Jake Bain when the girls played a couple of songs on stage at a gig in Elgin Town Hall last year, playing ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ by Guns & Roses and ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love’ by the Darkness.

After their Elgin Town Hall debut performance, they came to the attention of Nita Strauss, guitarist with Alice Cooper, which lead to an invite to see Alice Cooper in Glasgow in October last year. What a great experience, they got the full backstage treatment and met their heroes who were so supportive and encouraging towards the girls.
KCR Chairman James Wiseman said;-
“Amy and Rachel will knock your socks off! They’re a pair of pocket rockets and are so thrilled to be getting their own show on KCR”.
Amy and Rachel join other young presenters on Keith Community Radio – Ava Cameron (12) from Inverurie and 6 pupils from Gordonstoun school – who also have 4 weekly shows.
Listeners can tune in to Keith Community Radio across Moray on 107.7FM or online at www.kcr.fm
