The Officers’ Association Scotland exists to provide lifelong support, resources, employment training, and financial welfare assistance to officers and their families, whether they are service leavers, veterans, or reservists, throughout their transition to civilian life and beyond. While our core charitable purpose is to support the officer community, we are proud to offer our employment training, networking opportunities, and employer engagement activity to all ranks.
We provide tailored career guidance, employment support, mentoring, and access to a strong network of employers who recognise the value of military experience. By working closely with businesses across Scotland, we champion the message that recruiting from the armed forces community is good for business. Alongside our employment programmes, we deliver vital welfare support through individual grants and bursaries, as well as organisational grants that strengthen the wider armed forces charity sector.

Established in 1992, Out of the Darkness Theatre Company (ODTC) is a registered charity which works with adults with learning disabilities, our members, to develop their key skills within the creative arts sector to build confidence and resilience through performance. We provide a safe space for individuals to grow and achieve. Our members gain a real sense of purpose and pride, participating in meaningful projects within the creative arts.
Our projects aim to develop key interpersonal skills including Confidence, Teamwork, Independence, Communication, Listening and Decision Making. These projects allow our members create and participate in live theatre and filmed productions supported by our experienced staff team. Our members enjoy social interaction and being able to showcase and perform their work to the local community throughout the year.
We are proud of our partnership with UHI Moray which allows us to deliver SQA performing and creative arts courses at NPA, HNC and HND levels which prepare our students for creative careers in their specific art forms or alternative employment within arts management, teaching and social professions and more.
